Deixa-me rir...

Hoje trago-vos KD Lang.
…. if you should leave here tonight feeling not quite sated... feeling unfulfilled …. please remember that this is a human condition ...

….

Even through the darkest phase
Be it thick or thin
Always someone marches brave
Here beneath my skin

And constant craving
Has always been
Maybe a great magnet pulls
All souls towards truth
Or maybe it is life itself
Leads wisdom
To its youth

Constant craving
Has always been
Craving
Ah ha

Constant craving
Has always been
Has always been
………..

  1. Great choice, PCP. She has a fantastic expressive powerful yet tender voice. And her band are great ensemble musicians.
Surprised you don't know her for long, maybe you were inspired by me telling you of her concert with George Michael and Mick Hucknall (Simply Red)???
Anyway, her album Ingenue in 1992 made her internationally famous, and is her best album I think. Let me know if you'd like me to send you a copy. Other great songs worth checking are Miss Chatelaine, Still Thrives This Love, Season Of Hollow Soul, and a wonderful version of Roy Orbison's Crying (either solo or in duet with the Big 'O' himself). Thx, PO

  2. Thks P. I thought I had left a reply before ... but it vanished. Yes, I guess that I kept the name of KD Lang in my subconscious (after you mentioned it the other day). As for Roy Orbison and Crying .... I HATE that song!! Cant' stand it, sorry, P!! Thanks for your contribution. Bjs. pcp

  3. She spells her in lower case letters, kd lang... like the poet ee cummings (just ask gi).
PS. I can't stand Keith Richards singing!

i am a silent reader but a reader anyway of your posts. i also love music (well, is there anything i actually don't love..??), so i read your words and musical suggestions with a smile :).

poetry is music, music is poetry.

  7. Gi,
Reading silently is fine. But smiling should be shared, should light up the universe and sing. So share your thoughts or reminiscences, or even recriminations, about the songs we choose... best wishes, PO

  8. hi, philip.
    point taken ;-).
kd lang it's not one of my musical references, I must say. however she is delicate enough and, agree, there are a few songs from her which are very good. the problem (it's not a problem, of course, only my subjective impression) is that she seems to have talent to give us a truly great record that, for one reason or another, has never been released. like a good football player who is almost a great player since his early years - if you know what i mean.
    sorry this time..
    kind regards,

    gi.
